AISE Cleanright Information Website
A.I.S.E. and CEFIC have recently launched the www.cleanright.eu website. The Cleanright website is a joint initiative of A.I.S.E. ( www.aise.eu), the organisation representing the soaps, detergents and maintenance products industry, and CEFIC ( www.cefic.org), which represents the chemicals industry in Europe.

Fairy supports rescue of wildlife and cleaning of oiled birds
Since 1979, international emergency rescue groups have identified P&G hand-dish products (Fairy, Dawn, Dreft, Yes, Magistral, Cierto) as the product of choice for cleaning oiled wildlife. Every year at least half a million water birds die from encounters with spilled oil. When oil spill disasters happen, P&G is on the scene to help with the wildlife rescue, donating products and funds. P&G is also continually working with various organizations worldwide to train rescue teams, contribute to research, provide infrastructure and raise awareness on how oil spills affect wildlife.

RISICO: Risk of Surfactants in Coastal Environments
Since November 2004 the Procter & Gamble Company is leading a research project called RISICO. The project lasts for 3 years and its main purpose is to reduce uncertainties in risk assessment of surfactants in marine systems. Furthermore the objective will be to develop analytical methods to predict the exposure to surfactant mixtures in sea-sprays and in marine sediments and their effects on coastal ecosystems.

Dutch Stakeholder Workshop
Dutch stakeholders were invited from a group of relevant stakeholders for P&G, including representatives from science (different Universities and Research Institutes), policymakers (Dutch Departments), journalists, industrial organizations, consumer organisations and representatives of environmental and social Non Governmental Organizations to review and discuss the Science in the box website initiatives.

AISE Code of Good Environmental Practise
P&G supports and has subscribed to the AISE Code of Good Environmental Practise. The objectives of Code are for companies to continue environmental progress when formulating products and packaging. It is a voluntary initiative across the 15 countries of the EU, plus Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.

HERA (Human and Environmental Risk Assessments)
The European chemical manufacturers and formulators, with the intermediary of their respective industry associations (the European chemical industry or CEFIC and the European detergent formulators or AISE), joined forces and committed to review and complete, if necessary, the risk assessments for the common ingredients of household cleaning products. This voluntary program is referred to as "HERA".

ERASM: Environmental Risk Assessment Steering Management Committee
ERASM (Environmental Risk Assessment Steering Management) Committee was constituted in 1991 and consists in a joint activity between the members of AISE (International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products) and the members of CESIO (European Committee of Surfactants and their Organic Intermediates), a sector group of CEFIC. Both organizations sponsor the ERASM activities equally.
