- Liquid and compact detergents, a major breakthrough in reducing the environmental impact of the laundry process by reducing the amount of chemicals and packaging needed per wash while maintaining very high cleaning performance.
- 2-in-1 detergents combined the convenience of a quality detergent with the benefit of a fabric softener into one handy product.
- The introduction of refill packs for detergents, fabric conditioners and other products enabled significant reduction in packaging materials. The result is increased convenience and value combined with a decrease in solid waste.
- The use of liquid cotton type of ingredients in some detergent brands (such as Bold) led to a substantial reduction in the need to iron.
- Use of the elasticity maintaining technology in product like Ariel Style, Fiberflex, which provides important benefit with regard to maintaining a garment's shape over time, thus extending the useful lifetime' of the customer's clothing.
