There are many rules and regulations that ensure that the Fabric and Home Care Products that P&G produces are sustainable and safe to human health and the environment. P&G has to follow many different recommendations and standards set by the European Union and Member States on how to produce and market safe and sustainable products. These can be divided into three categories.

These Recommendations and Opinions  are not legally enforced, however they form part of the product safety strategy we here at P&G have adopted to ensure that we are doing the best we can to protect human health and the environment.

As times are changing, so are the rules and regulations that ensure sustainable and safe products. The EU is always updating, refining and amending existing legislation as well as proposing  new directives. To produce legally binding regulations takes a long time, as many different stakeholders are involved in these processes to ensure that the resulting directives are well constructed.
